What are bully sticks? Bully sticks are made from the pizzle or penis of a bull. Bully sticks are made by dehydrating the reproductive organ of an already slaughtered beef bull. Bull canes average 28-36 inches long. The process of removing the odor left behind comes from rinsing the bully and then the cane is hung vertically by hooks and is dried in an oven at a low temperature for many hours. Once dry, the cane is cut to 12 and 6 inch lengths.

Most cattle are slaughtered before they are 14-16 months of age so finding a bull cane that is a really good size limits availability. The largest- Gigantic size, Super Monster and Monster bully sticks are very hard to find, so price will reflect this. In order to get the larger size pizzle these bulls will be much older and considered “prime” beef that is usually 30-42 months in age.
