my 4 month old kitten loves this! It gives him a sense of achievement because the string is long enough that he can carry the feather toy to a hiding spot after catching it, and it prevents the boredom that comes with success because the reel lets you move the toy slowly from a distance or quickly pull it back.

My Maine Coon loves these. I have to buy them in pairs, just in case he breaks it. He’s a bit rough with them. He drags them around the house and yells for us to play with him. You can’t go wrong with this Pet Fishing Rod

If you’re looking for an authentic rod & reel experience, this will do it. My cat chewed through the string almost immediately, however. I tied the two pieces back together, but the casting and winding is a bit impaired. I haven’t used it much since then so I can’t speak to durability.

You have to use this a few times to get it to loosen up for casting. The best part is that it has a clip at the end like a real fishing pole so you can attach and other toy with a loop. If you want the cast to work, use a heaver weight toy and make sure it is loosened up. Even if you don’t cast with this, it is nice to have an easily adjustable variable length cat toy. Short for zooming around the living room, longer it I am throwing it down the stairs.
